LATES NEWS Updated 22.06 Wed Oct 10 2007 A new initiative to help locate the more than 100,000 children who go missing annually in the UK has been launched at New Scotland Yard. 'Missing Children's TV' is a joint project involving the Police National Missing Persons Bureau, children's charity Parents and Abducted Children Together and Electronic Health Media. EHM operates a digital screen network in hospitals and doctors' surgeries, with each site able to tailor what they show in waiting rooms or wards. The technology will allow a child's photograph to be sent out quickly, targeting the general public and appealing for information. Deputy Assistant Commissioner Richard Bryan, the Association of Chief Police Officers lead for missing people, said: "This provides us with an excellent new avenue to publicise the details of and information about the short and long term missing. Anything that can help reunite people or fill the void left by a lack of answers can only be a good thing for the hundreds of friends and families who live in hope. "This is new technology for the police and our partners, and we will always seek to explore innovative means to reach the widest possible audience in a bid to find answers for people." Hanna Sebright, Managing Director of Electronic Health Media said: "We have a screen system at Electronic Health Media that provides flexible content control allowing important information to be displayed anywhere on our screen network within a matter of minutes and a core focus on providing educational and interesting information on our screens in GP Practices and Hospitals." |

"Many children are missing for months or even years before they are found and we will be displaying digitally enhanced images of these children to reflect their true age and to raise awareness of their circumstances. This is a project that is close to everyone's heart." Please take a moment and visit this website www.pact-online.org as we have partnered with them on this project.
